Letlhaka Technologies is a value added technology distributor of Last Mile Access solutions, IPTV & Video On Demand solutions, IP & Fiber Security solutions and Fiber Optic Cable. Our Solutions for Last mile access Includes Fiber to the Home (FTTH), Curb (FTTC) and Business (FTTB) products, IP & DSL Residential NAT & VoIP Gateways. Our product range and services enable Triple-Play services (video, telecommunication, data and security) to homes and businesses in communities over networks. Letlhaka Technologies is a BEE company based in South Africa.

 

The History

The directors and founders of Letlhaka Technologies has been involved in the fiber-optics, electronics, video, manufacturing, retail and international business sectors for over ten years. Letlhaka Technologies was founded in 2005 as a technology specialist company to serve the emerging Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) and -Business (FTTB) fiber-optic markets along with complementary products such as IP-TV. Since the company’s inception it has grown steadily to become a market leader in these segments, rolling out the first deployments of PON technology in sub-Saharan Africa. Our product portfolio has grown too, to complement our complete package on offer to our rapidly growing list of customers.

Letlhaka Technologies is a South-African held privately funded organization with BEE status.

 

The Board of Directors

Managing Director: Corne van der Merwe

Corne van der Merwe - Managing Director for Letlhaka Technologies. Corne’s expertise lie in the sales and business management arena. Corne started his career as the sales manager for a well-known fiber-optic cabling company and thereafter the co-owner and manager for a company in the fiber-optic end-equipment and cabling sector. Corne has formal education in a sales and business management capacity and adds valuable experience in business management as well as sales and marketing to the team.

Director: Paul Mateus

Paul Mateus - Non-executive Director for Letlhaka Technologies. Paul also serves as the Managing Director of one of the largest manufacturer of enameled and rectangular copper wire in Southern Africa. Paul has extensive interest and experience in the retail and logistics industry. He has also been actively involved in the electrical engineering industry for over 20 years managing companies in the manufacturing and distribution sectors. Paul adds a wealth of business finance-, planning- and management experience to the team.

Director: Nene Mathebula

Nene Mathebula - Non-executive Director for Letlhaka Technologies. Nene holds a B.Sc in Electrical Engineering, UCT and MAP, EDP Wits Business School. He is also a Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa. Nene commenced his career on gold and platinum mines, after which he held various specialist and managerial positions in Eskom and Rotek Engineering, a subsidiary of Eskom. His formal area of expertise is in the maintenance of large, extra high voltage electrical plants. He has traveled extensively overseas and in Africa on this subject to source best practice and has thus developed a good network of diverse contacts. Nene was General Manager of Power Distribution Services, a business unit of Rotek Engineering, until he left to form a Joint Venture with a JSE listed company, where he holds the position of Managing Director. Nene consults for Eskom Enterprises on contractual and commercial matters pertaining to Nigerian contracts and also holds directorships in other specialized engineering companies. Nene brings a diverse network of business contacts and business management expertise to the team.

Director: Aubrey McKenzie

Aubrey Mackenzie - Non-executive director for Letlhaka Technologies. Aubrey holds a B.Sc Eng Electrical, University of Natal. He is also a Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa. Aubrey also holds a Graduate Diploma in Management (Utilities), Samford University. Aubrey is also the Managing Director of a well known Engineering and Project Management service company, which pursues interest in South Africa, Ghana and Benin. Aubrey is also a Director of an Energy Services Company, which offers services such as Demand Side Management, Remote Metering, and Tariff Evaluation. Aubrey is also a member of the National Demand Side Management: Measurement and Technical Verification Steering Committee (sponsored by DME and Eskom). As a Consulting Electrical Engineer and Project Manager, Aubrey was involved in Electrification (in excess of 25 000 connections), Reticulation, Substations and Building Services. He has also been involved in Civil and Mechanical projects in excess of R200 million, of which the largest was the Third/Fourth Import and Export Route for Portnet in Richards Bay (total project value R231 million). Aubrey has been involved in the operation and maintenance of plants both in a mining and industrial environment, as well as Eskom distribution for a period of seven years. Aubrey adds his armada of expertise in engineering, project management and business to the team.

Technical Director: Riaan Janse van Rensburg

Riaan Janse van Rensburg - Technical Director for Letlhaka Technologies. Riaan holds a B.Sc(hons) Apl.Sc Electronics, University of Pretoria. Riaan started his career as electronic development engineer for several technology companies. He has over ten years of electronic design, product development and electronic project management experience in the industrial, mining, and fiber optics industries. Riaan also holds other certifications in advanced networking and more recently received training on the planning and successful implementation of Alloptic’s GE-PON equipment, and Minerva networks IP-TV systems. Riaan adds his technical expertise and project management skills to the team
