Tilgin
|
Letlhaka Technologies successfully completed full FAX support testing for plain POTS fax machines on Tilgin’s Vood VRG342 VoIP IP residential gateways. The tests confirmed that Tilgin’s T.38 fax feature supports regular fax machines sending and receiving faxes between Telkom’s network and the Tilgin VRG342, and between two VRG342’s when using an Asterisk VoIP server and different trunk connections between the Asterisk and the Telkom network. In all cases sending and receiving single or multiple pages with different analog fax machines the Tilgin VRG342 performed flawlessly and no special setup was required on our Asterisk!

New 30day Trial residential site running: LeDomaine South Village, Hillcrest, Kwazulu Natal. Letlhaka Technologies activated a new residential Fiber To The Home (FTTH) system using Alloptic’s GE-PON solution. The system and fiber-optic cabling was physically installed by one of our system integration partners and activated by us during the past week. Individual ONU’s in the depoyment are activated as homes are nearing completion after all electrical work in the home is completed. This system delivers a triple play solution to customers with RF-video, data and VOIP telephony. Nine homes were completed by Friday last week to the point where the ONU could quickly be installed, activated and tested.

Port of Maputo in Mozambique installs Alloptic GE-PON FTTB (Fiber to the Business) system for their telecommunications, security and data network:
An Alloptic GE-PON system has been successfully deployed at the Port of Mozambique Development Company (MPDC) in Maputo, Mozambique. The system was installed by one of Letlhaka technologies’ system integration partners, Ristar Mozambique. The Alloptic GE-PON system will enable MPDC to move all of their telecommunications inside the Port of Maputo to their own private network. The system also allows them to move all their data network services such as internet and email to their own network at unprecidented speed and reliability. The network also allows them to implement IP-CCTV security in the near future. In addition to being a cost saving platform, the Alloptic GE-PON system in the port also allows them to on-sell telecommunications services to other tenants in the port, which is operated as a gated business park.

Optelecom-NKF appoints Letlhaka Technologies as sole partner in South Africa:
Optelecom-NKF, Inc. (NASDAQ: OPTC), a leading global manufacturer of network video equipment, including fiber optic systems, video servers, network video recorders, video management software and Ethernet switches, has appointed Letlhaka Technologies Pty (Ltd) as sole partner to promote, supply and give first line support for their products in the South African market. Although NKF products had been successfully and reliably deployed in South Africa for a number of years, customers had to rely on importers that carried no stock and often had to look for technical support abroad. “From the first contacts between Optelecom-NKF and Letlhaka Technologies we worked to a mutual beneficial situation for the South African market, based upon the in-depth market knowledge of Letlhaka Technologies and our broad product portfolio,” said Pieter Franke, Optelecom-NKF’s Area Manager for Africa. “The partnership between Optelecom-NKF and Letlhaka Technologies will ensure local support, high stock availability and a new competitive pricing structure on the entire NKF product range,” said Corne van der Merwe, Managing Director for Letlhaka Technologies. “NKF is well known to be a manufacturer of highly reliable, innovative products”. Recently, Optelecom-NKF unveiled a series of new products including the very small Pico range of optical video transmission equipment, small enough to plug directly onto a camera while still delivering superior video quality. Amongst their new product releases is the C-series single- and multi-channel MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 video encoders that transmit video over IP networks with superior quality with industry record low latency. These encoders can stream IP video to their new range of MX video monitoring software, to hardware decoders and to their extremely powerful i-NVR Elite network video recorder which can handle up to 65000 video streams and has up to 1024 Terabytes of storage capacity.

Lonmin Platinum installs Alloptic GE-PON FTTB fiber to the business system for their security network:
One of mining giant Lonmin Platinum’s sites near Brits in the North-West province elected to deploy an Alloptic GE-PON system to enable them to run a high-speed reliable fiber-optic platform for their telecommunication and security network infrastructure. The site has hundreds of video cameras ind video recorders that needs to be interconnected onto an IP network. The site spans nearly 40km and requires a secure, reliable and powerful communication infrastructure. The GE-PON system will ultimately provide a platform for their internal IP-video security surveillance system, their gate intercom system, card reader system, telephone extension system and electric fence monitoring system. With phase one of the core network platform successfully deployed, all the technologies that can run on the platform is now being integrated in association with Intervid, one of Letlhaka Technology’s integration partners.
