New Last Mile access products

Alloptic now offers the new XGEN 7500 range of ONT’s (customer premises equipment) that allows the deployment of VDSL services over PON networks. This allows the deployment of even more cost-effective FTTH systems, which provide Video, Voice and Data services on a unified converged platform.

Tilgin released the new HG series of IAD (Integrated Access Device) with Ethernet, ADSL and now single-fiber WAN uplinks. The HG series has 2 internal VoIP SIP / MGCP / H.323 ports with T.38 fax support, 4 LAN ports and an internal 802.11b/g/super-g wireless access point. New Fiber Optic Cable systems

Prysmian’s range of Rapier® Easy Breakout cable provides a fast and efficient means of building an
access network. Rapier® cable contain a number of 12-fibre bundles in unique colours. A cable can contain a total of 48 to 432 fibers. Each bundle has an easy-peel coating. Lower fibre count designs use a central tube structure with the inner tube protecting the bundles when ring-cutting the outer layer.
The inner tube has a Prysmian patented break-out window for easy access to the bundles. In higher fibre count designs, a number of bundles are contained in stranded tubes, each with its own break-out window.
The most significant cost savings are made in break-out times (as the cables do not contain gel) particularly for mid-span access, leaving the bundles intact in the joint (as bare fibres or in bundles as preferred). Up to two-thirds of cable preparation time can be saved by making use of the Prysmian Rapier® solution.

Prysmian recently introduced a new addition to its FTTx cable product range: high rise building break-out cable, which provides a fast, economical and convenient method of getting fibre to the end user in multi level construction applications.
